Conference Information

Greetings to All!

The ARKnet Board of Directors is pleased to announce that our annual conference this year should be a new and exciting event for everyone because of a change in venue: The conference for 2002 will be held at Hot Springs on June 19-20 in conjunction with the 9th annual Hot Springs Educational Technology Institute. This terrific event has become the major gathering in our state for everyone connected with technology in education, and the ARKnet Board felt that our membership would be greatly served by accepting an invitation to join with them. We encourage you to visit the conference website above for explicit details of the event.

In order to make your experience at the conference even more enjoyable, we have planned several things that are directed specifically toward the ARKnet members and their guests. First, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Arlington Hotel for ARKnet attendees for which we have been able to get an excellent rate of $62/single or $72/double for the conference dates. We have been assured that these are newly remodeled rooms which are very nice. Second, we will be hosting breakfast for the ARKnet folks on June 19-20 at the hotel, as well as a catered reception on one evening.

Thirdly, we will be holding our annual ARKnet business meeting during the conference itself, and finally, we are developing and scheduling a full slate of conference presentations which we feel will be of specific interest to the membership of ARKnet. When all this is combined with the already rich variety of programs, large number of vendor displays, and the opportunity for us to associate with our colleagues in education throughout Arkansas, we are confident that the decision to join will be popular and rewarding.

We believe that this year's annual conference will be an experience that you will not want to miss, and we are particularly encouraging everyone to bring their families and guests along to enjoy the many pleasant amenities of beautiful Hot Springs in June. We will be posting additional information very soon regarding conference and hotel registration procedures. We would appreciate your comments at any time, and we are looking forward to seeing you all in June at the conference!
